65Top Movies for Xmas!!
Have another best movie for Christmas 2011? Please post it below, no need to sign up! I am going to give you a brief rundown of a bunch of great movies that you can give as a gift for Christmas. Or you can just hog them for yourself, I won't tell anyone! The fact is you should already have a good idea on what you want to see. There are only X amount of quality movies that are going to come out, along with some stinkers, and some surprises. Usually just by seeing the trailer you could get a good idea on how a movie is going to be. All of these movies below I guarantee I can sit through, well except for maybe the whole Lord of the Rings saga, I'd have to get up quite a few times for that one. But anyways these are all top of the line movies and some will be available right before Christmas!
All of these links will take you directly to Amazon, where you can get reviews and a better description of the movie.
The Lion King
One of the best cartoons ever made was the Lion King. It was by far my favorite movie that I had ever seen from Disney when I was a kid, nothing compared. The songs were catchy and great, everyone including parents sang them. You would hear them at roller rinks! The story is just incredible and it really gets the best of your emotions. It makes you scared, sad, happy, excited, every emotion you could think of.
I put this first, because it is my top recommendation. If your kid has nothing seen this, or even you haven't it really is a great movie.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows
You can't have a movie list without having some Harry Potter action on it! This is the newest movie and it is available for Xmas 2011. So if you know someone who hasn't seen the series, ot hasn't seen this movie you can order it right now at Amazon. Just click the movie and you can get reviews on it and check out other movies and anything else you may like. Harry Potter is a sure fire winner, and a great inexpensive gift idea.
Captain America: The First Avenger
Captain America is an action packed thriller. It got very good reviews, not as good as Batman: the Dark Knight, but still entertaining nonetheless. He is a Marvel Comics superhero. The was born in World War II and his sole purpose is to fight for freedom. He is the one guy that can stop the evil villian Red Skull from taking over and ruining the world.
Star Wars: Complete Saga
Shift gears a little bit here and go with one of the most sold DVDs ever. This has all of the movies from the beginning to the end of Star Wars. So if you don't have most of them this is certainly worth getting and watching. Some kids might really enjoy this still, I'm sure a lot of kids haven't seen it, it is getting old! We all are ahh!! If you know someone who is a Sci-Fi nut, get the some Star Wars action, they'll really enjoy it.
Cars 2
I don't know how true this is, but Cars 2 is the number one animated film of the year. I have heard it on the commercials for sale of the DvD. I'm not sure if it is the best, but it certainly was great. If Toy Story 3 was this year, then definitely not because I loved Toy Story 3 I only liked Cars 2. With these animated movies you know what you are getting. A movie you kid will love that should at least be entertaining for adults. This is certainly funny and entertaining!
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Another great family movie. I really loved the first one! The second and third installment were very entertaining as well. I have got to get my gorilla grips on this dvd and watch it. I am still waiting for one to be better than the first one, which would be awfully hard to accomplish, hopefully this one does! If you haven't seen the Pirates series, you may want to get all of them for Christmas. Click this Amazon link and you can order all of them from there.
Thor
Thor is an arrogant but strong warrior who sparks a war. He gets banished and is forced to live with humans, from where he is forced to defend earth when an evil super villain sends dark forces. It is action packed and full of adventure and danger. Very entertaining to watch and one of the better films I have seen for 2011. Not the best action movie I have seen, but it has been one of the better ones to come out.
Lord of the Rings
The Lord of the Rings is one of the most popular series to ever come out and they are all somewhat new movies! Much newer than Star Wars for sure. This is an epic adventure featuring the likes of Hobbits, dwarfs, wizards, talking trees, golems you name it! It is a star-studded cast and a very long and exciting adventure. The characters are very colorful and the landscape is just beautiful a very well done series.
I can not wait for the prequel - the Hobbit. Which was an awesome book, the first big one I've ever read to be honest!
X-Men: First Class
I would have to say, after Batman, X-men is the next best when it comes to producing quality watchable movies. A lot of these superhero movies just never accomplish what they set out to, but X-men does. This is a very entertaining movie. This is the prequel to all of the X-Men Movies and it focuses on Magneto and Professor X. The actors do a stellar job in playing younger versions of the immortal actors Partrick Stweart and Ian McKellen.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Usually remakes of movies stink, but these prequels for both X-Men and Planet of the Apes are stellar. It was easy to tell by the trailer that this one was different. They computer work was just fabulous on this movie and it really paid off. All of the hard work put in should be awarded by you buying this movie and watching it. It is by far my favorite Planet of the Apes. Yes, that includes the older ones!
Cowboy and Aliens
Here is another fun-filled PG-13 movie to watch with the entire family. It is action-packed and got great ratings... Well let me stop there, I haven't seen this one, and not sure that I am ever going to! Just thought I throw you guys off by putting something on here that I have no idea about. It got 4 stars and a solid Rotten Tomato review. It is also on the best sellers list for 2011. So if that isn't enough reason to get it, then don't!
Kung Pu Panda 2
Kung Fu Panda 2, I have not got to chance to see this in theaters and I am waiting for it to hit DvD on Dec 13, 2011. When it does, it is on! I already know it is good, because I loved the first one. It has gotten nothing but great reviews. This is probably my most anticipated movie that I haven't seen yet, I tease myself on purpose so I have things to look forward to. This has been in theaters I just haven't gotten around to it, but I kind of figured I could just wait until DvD in the first place. This will be great for me to watch now, plus my nephew can watch it since he is turning 2!
This movie is another reason I have a feeling Cars 2 isn't the best animated film of the year.
