Free Healthcare in Las Vegas- The Beginning of Something Great
59Free Healthcare with Helping Hands
There is a great thing going on in Las Vegas, I luckily caught the story below while watching the local news. So actually this story is only locally and it would be great for it to be viral. It would be great for more people to jump on board, or perhaps start their own. It was pretty much a fluke that I even saw it, but I am glad it did. This particular group of people deserves to have the spotlight put on them, and I hope you guys would share this with everyone you know that cares about our planet and the people on it!
My Story:
Having had a deviated septum for some time, I had just recently came up with the time to get it fixed(25 years old). The years prior it was recommended that I not get it fixed since I would be playing sports, I humbly agreed. Plus in football, where the majority of my injuries happened, leaving a game, let alone taking a couple days off was unheard of. Going to the doctor was not an option, my team needed me. From there I went straight to work and played sports throughout, I never complained about my nose, even though it hurts my confidence tremendously.
I recently got in a car accident, which insured that I didn't play any sports, plus it is winter so it would that made it even easier for me to not get tempted. So for the first time since I was 16, my plan was to have a straight nose that I could breathe out of. I went to the doctor, he told me that I should not have surgery to fix my breathing without straightening my nose because the rhinoplasty would improve breathing furthermore. This alone would seem to me to be enough to get it fixed, however insurance rejected my claim. I also added that I can not wear masks or sunglasses. The glasses are extremely irritating and the masks still let dust. Think about it.The insurance lady that rejected me told me that I should buy a mask that fits me. I asked her,"Have you ever seen a mask that bows to the left from the start? Paper masks don't even work for me, plus in most cases a paper mask won't do. I have never complained about it and rarely ever mentioned it. I finally got it in my head, "why am i suffering through this?" From that aspect it made sense for me to get it fixed, since I plan on living the rest of my life.
Anyways I was not able to have the surgery and I am breathing out of my mouth the majority of the time. If I am lucky like right now, I can breath out of my left nostril about 60-70%, and my right nostril 10%, so I'd be lying if I were to tell you I'm not breathing out of my nose right now. I will have to open my mouth for a nice big breath soon. I can not breathe hard or both nostrils close up.
Moral of the story:
Living with pain and suffering sucks. I have had my share with migraines and my nose(plus a couple other minor things that I will spare you) My problems are in no way serious and they certainly do not need to be fixed in order for me to survive. So why do I bring it up, because my problem sucks, but how many people out there are suffering way worse than me?
Please spend the time to think about all the people that can barely walk, or haven't been allowed to have surgery. There are people that want to do great things, but can barely move. Sometimes it can take a doctor 20 minutes to make someone's life exponentially better, and of course livable. Watch the video for me to prove the prior sentence.
So having all of this fresh on my mind...
How I found the video:
I was in Vegas for the weekend for business, so this means I wasn't partying or anything.. just sitting in my hotel room flipping through the channels. When I don't know why, because I don't do it when I am home, but I was watching the local news. They played once story that was actually news! And then I caught a glimpse of the title free healthcare- story is next. There was nothing else on and I was kind of intrigued, so I sat through the commercials(another rarity).
I was not expecting something so huge. This to me is a big deal and I really respect the heck out of these 30+ people who were able to make this man's life a lot better. Hopefully more doctors and people will follow suit.
This is the video I saw

I have shared it. Good to see this sort of thing, but I'd rather have national health care.
